About Our Services
Swachhata Savrdhan Sanstha Maha Sangh (SSSMS) is registered as a nonpolitical not-for-profit organization in 2009 at the charity commissioner’s office under the societies registration act 1880 and Mumbai public trust act of 1950. It was started as a collective response to various issues and challenges faced by the Community Based Organizations engaged in various sanitation-related activities in the slum areas of Mumbai. Poor sanitation infrastructure in the slums of Mumbai has been a major challenge to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene in the slum areas. Dedicated members of SSSMS started the most needed activities of cleaning of community toilets. These activities were supported and encouraged by the MCGM and World Bank. These CBOS are providing various services to their own communities and on the basis of their vast field experience in the sanitation sector, they are now equipped with the required knowledge. Skills and attitude to extend these services in the larger market. SSSMS have a team of grassroots managers, and professional sanitary workers who have long experience in dealing with solid and liquid waste management in urban and rural areas. SSSMS team has been trained under the Slum Sanitation Program (SSP) department and solid waste management department of Municipal Corporation Of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). Sanitary workers are provided necessary training by the World Toilet College and All India Local Self Government on various aspects of cleanliness and related rules and regulation prescribed under Solid Waste Management rules 2016, Manual scavenging and Rehabilitation Act 2013 and other Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) to be adopted for carrying our waste related activities. The team is equipped with the necessary expertise to take professional services in the sanitation sector.

Services
Upkeeping of Public and community toilets.
Under Clean India Campaign through the government and private sector, many public and community toilets are constructed however major challenges are faced by these agencies in keeping these toilets in clean and hygienic conditions. There is a lack of trained human resources to undertake the operation and maintenance of sanitation-related infrastructures such as toilets septic tanks and sewer lines. We still engage caste-based human resources to take up these activities. All service providers are in need of professionally trained human resources to undertake these activities SSSMS has a pool of experienced CBOs who are providing services related to the operation and maintenance of these services. We as SSSMS professional service providers offer services by abiding.

Integrated solid waste management services.
Waste management in urban areas is a real challenge. Many individual families, housing societies, and commercial establishments require professional solid waste management services. The latest SWM rules 2016 have legally made it mandatory for all those who are generating garbage to dispose of their garbage as these rules. Keeping this in mind we are offering professional integrated services to our clients. Bulk generators of garbage generated have been held accountable for solid waste management, therefore, it is very essential that individual flat owners, residential, and commercial complexes have to comply and follow all the rules and regulations prescribed by the local authorities. These compliances are complex and need micro-management at basic units such as families’ residential and commercial establishments. It consists of hardware and software activities. Successful Waste management needs an integrated approach such as at-source segregation of waste, transportation, and scientific disposal of waste. SSSMS is offering all necessary services in an integrated manner to their clients.

Road sweeping and cleanliness services.
Our Community-Based organizations (CBOs) are engaged in various road cleanliness-related activities such as road sweeping and manning and moping services. These CBOs are providing services to the Municipal Corporation Of Mumbai (MCGM).These CBOs are having experienced and trained team of sanitary workers and members of CBOs are having practical experience of work supervision and labor management on day to day basis.

World wide spread of Covid 19 pandemic has emphasized the greater need for home sanitation. Ensuring scientifically approved standard operating procedures are extremely important to prevent diseases and infections. The family members with high risk of infection and the aged population need special attention. We are providing very professional home sanitation and hygienically trained maids male and female to meet the home sanitation-related services. These maids are provided with skills related to kitchen sanitation toilet cleaning protocols.

Training and capacity building.
We having experienced team of experts and very experienced experts such as Anand Jagtap having 25 years experience in the World Bank financed Slum sanitation program and solid waste management. He is serving as consultant for many NGOs urban local bodies and government depart. He is retired Officer On Special Duty (OSD) of MCGM and had worked in Govt of Maharashtra.
